| Description: | Engineering Department Manager Manchester / UK (Hybrid) Permanent We are seeking an experienced Engineering Department Manager to join a well-established engineering business with a strong pipeline of work across the water, nuclear, and energy sectors. This is a senior leadership role at the centre of a multi-discipline team (mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation), supporting delivery across large-scale infrastructure programmes. The Role Take ownership of engineering delivery across multiple projects, leading teams from early-stage design through to execution, and ensuring quality, coordination, and performance across all workstreams. Key Responsibilities - Lead a multi-discipline engineering team across several live projects - Act as the key link between engineering, delivery teams, and external partners - Manage workload, resource planning, and team capability - Oversee progress, risks, and overall performance - Drive technical quality and consistency across outputs - Support future work and shape upcoming opportunities - Improve engineering delivery across the business Requirements - Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams on complex projects - Proven experience managing mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams - Strong understanding of multi-discipline design delivery - Comfortable managing workload, priorities, and team structure - Strong stakeholder engagement across all levels - Background in infrastructure, energy, or similar engineering sectors - Interested in a role with influence and ownership - Motivated by long-term project pipelines and stability - Keen to develop teams and increase capability - Open to hybrid working across UK locations - Engineering degree or equivalent - Chartered status (or working towards) preferred If you are interested or know someone suitable, please reach out for a confidential discussion. | |
