We are working with a highly respected consultancy supporting complex and safety-critical projects within the nuclear sector. They are seeking a Buyer to join their collaborative and professional procurement team. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver procurement activities for assigned projects in line with programme, budget, and technical specifications.
- Prepare and issue RFQs/ITTs based on project requirements.
- Ensure technical and commercial compliance requirements are met at the RFQ stage.
- Evaluate quotations using approved templates and prepare tender evaluations.
- Maintain Procurement Schedules with regular updates to the Project Manager.
- Ensure timely placement of purchase orders with all contractual and technical requirements.
- Expedite orders as required to support project delivery.
- Resolve routine supplier issues and escalate complex matters where appropriate.
Job Requirements:
- Understanding of commercial, technical, and quality requirements in procurement.
- Experience in project-based procurement in engineering, construction, defence, or manufacturing environments.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple sourcing packages concurrently.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational discipline.
- Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in procurement systems, Microsoft Office, and document management tools.
- Reliable, methodical approach to documentation and record management.
Qualifications:
- CIPS Level 4 (or equivalent)
- IOSH Managing Safely or Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace (or equivalent) - Relevant training will be provided if required
