Description:

We are working with a highly respected consultancy supporting complex and safety-critical projects within the nuclear sector. They are seeking a Buyer to join their collaborative and professional procurement team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys structured, project-based procurement and wants to be part of an environment where quality, compliance, and precision are essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver procurement activities for assigned projects in line with programme, budget, and technical specifications.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs/ITTs based on project requirements.
  • Ensure technical and commercial compliance requirements are met at the RFQ stage.
  • Evaluate quotations using approved templates and prepare tender evaluations.
  • Maintain Procurement Schedules with regular updates to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure timely placement of purchase orders with all contractual and technical requirements.
  • Expedite orders as required to support project delivery.
  • Resolve routine supplier issues and escalate complex matters where appropriate.


Job Requirements:

  • Understanding of commercial, technical, and quality requirements in procurement.
  • Experience in project-based procurement in engineering, construction, defence, or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple sourcing packages concurrently.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational discipline.
  • Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in procurement systems, Microsoft Office, and document management tools.
  • Reliable, methodical approach to documentation and record management.


Qualifications:

  • CIPS Level 4 (or equivalent)
  • IOSH Managing Safely or Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace (or equivalent) - Relevant training will be provided if required
