EC&I Engineer
Warrington 51 per hour (Inside IR35) Hybrid - 3 Days On Site 12-Month Contract
Are you an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer looking to work on one of the UK's most significant nuclear programmes? We're seeking an experienced engineer to join a specialist Plant Facing Design Office (PFDO) team, delivering electrical and control engineering solutions that support the development of bespoke tooling and equipment for critical retrieval operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to technically challenging projects within a highly regulated environment while enjoying a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
The Role
As an EC&I Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering outputs within your assigned scope, ensuring designs are safe, compliant and fit for purpose. Your responsibilities will include:
- Producing EC&I engineering deliverables in line with project requirements and specifications
- Applying relevant engineering standards, codes of practice and design guidance
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering team
- Identifying and documenting engineering assumptions, constraints and risks
- Supporting design reviews, checking and verification activities
- Delivering engineering solutions that meet the highest standards of safety and quality
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have:
- Experience delivering EC&I engineering outputs within engineering or project environments
- A strong understanding of engineering standards, procedures and best practice
- Experience developing engineering documentation from defined requirements
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Experience supporting engineering assurance and review processes
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline
Desirable Experience
- Experience within nuclear or other regulated, safety-critical industries
- Exposure to multiple phases of the engineering lifecycle, from concept through to detailed design
- Experience working alongside designers, project managers and other engineering disciplines
- Familiarity with engineering governance and assurance processes
- A commitment to continuous improvement and learning from operational experience
- Working towards or holding Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status
