| Description: | Role Summary We are looking for a Chartered Associate Fire Engineer to join F.I.R.E. Consultancy during a period of continued growth. This is a senior technical and leadership role suited to an experienced fire engineering professional who can lead complex project work, manage and mentor engineers, support client relationships and contribute to business development. You will take responsibility for producing fire safety strategies, fire risk assessments and bespoke fire engineering solutions, including first-principles assessments, performance-based designs, fire and evacuation modelling, risk analysis and cost benefit analysis where appropriate. The role will involve site visits, technical delivery, mentoring, contribution to training programmes, fee proposals, work conversion, client retention and support with the recruitment and development of new talent. You will need Chartered Engineer status, a BSc, MSc or PhD in an engineering or science subject, and at least 10 years' relevant experience in fire engineering or a closely related technical field. Responsibilities In this role, you will provide technical leadership across complex fire engineering work, while supporting team development and contributing to business growth. Your responsibilities will include:
Knowledge and skills You will hold a BSc, MSc or PhD in a suitable engineering or science-related subject, with at least 10 years' relevant experience in fire engineering or a closely related technical field. Chartered Engineer status is essential, and registration with a relevant professional institution, such as the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), is expected. You should also be able to demonstrate active engagement with the wider fire safety profession, such as involvement in professional bodies, technical groups or special interest groups. You will bring relevant knowledge and practical experience across the following areas:

You should be comfortable communicating with clients, colleagues and technical and non-technical stakeholders, and able to produce, review and approve clear, accurate and well-structured reports. This role also requires confidence with relevant software, including Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, CAD and smoke modelling software. You will support project budgets, commercial delivery, and the mentoring and development of team members. Travel is required for site visits, client meetings and project work, so a full UK driving licence is essential. Location and regional expansion F.I.R.E. Consultancy is headquartered in South Wales, but for the right person this role could be based anywhere in the UK.
