About the Role We are seeking an experienced and driven Mechanical Package Manager on a high-profile infrastructure programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in the safe and efficient delivery of complex mechanical systems, from design through to installation and commissioning. Key Responsibilities -
Oversee and manage mechanical work packages, ensuring compliance with UK law, project requirements, and health and safety standards. -
Collaborate with internal and external design teams to ensure designs are optimised for constructability, safety, and contractual compliance. -
Lead on planning, procurement, and execution of mechanical works, ensuring on-time delivery to quality and budget targets. -
Monitor site progress and report accurately to the project management team, including supporting financial tracking and forecasting. -
Lead package teams with clear direction, mentoring, and performance management to drive results. -
Control project change, proactively managing risk and opportunities within your remit. -
Ensure all mechanical works meet internal specifications, client expectations, and regulatory requirements. -
Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with company and client procedures. -
Support quality assurance including authoring and reviewing ITPs, RAMS, and lifetime quality records. -
Manage interdisciplinary and stakeholder interfaces including subcontractors, clients, and internal teams. -
Coordinate project documentation with document control, ensuring teams operate with current, approved documents (ProjectWise experience is a plus). -
Plan and track short-term progress (including 6-week lookaheads) using Aphex or similar tools. Qualifications & Experience Essential: -
HNC in Mechanical Engineering or NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management (or higher) or equivalent relevant experience. -
Proven experience in a similar role delivering heavy infrastructure and M&E systems -
SMSTS and CSCS (White or Black Card) -
Strong understanding of CDM regulations, health and safety, and quality assurance processes -
Experience across the full project lifecycle including design, procurement, installation, and commissioning -
Demonstrable commercial awareness, with understanding of NEC4 contracts Desirable: -
Trade background or strong working knowledge of M&E installation methods -
Experience in Defence or Nuclear sectors -
Professional membership (e.g., CIOB, CIBSE, IMechE) is advantageous -
