Our client, a key player in the nuclear sector, is actively seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This exciting opportunity will have you fully site-based and focusing on construction-side activities, ensuring the smooth and compliant execution of electrical installation works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing electrical installation works
- Managing subcontractors and technicians
- Reviewing and approving electrical documentation
- Supporting commissioning teams
- Ensuring compliance with nuclear site standards
- Managing electrical work packs
- Coordinating with mechanical, civils, QA, and PMO teams
- Ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence
Job Requirements:
- Experience in the electrical discipline (not mechanical)
- Experience working as a project engineer on the construction side (not design office)
- 100% site-based role
- Capable of working under CIS or Umbrella
- Security Clearance (SC) minimum, must be DV-capable
- NVQ Level 4 and a Gold Card are ideal qualifications
- Experience supporting construction packages
- Proficiency in documentation (RAMS, ITPs, redlines, as-builts, LQRs, permits)
Suitable Backgrounds:
- Electrical Technicians who have progressed to NVQ Level 4 / HNC / HND
- Electrical Commissioning Technicians moving into project engineering work
- Electrical Construction Engineers from nuclear, defence, or heavy industry
- Individuals with strong documentation and package management experience
