Description:


Our client, a prominent player in the nuclear engineering sector, seeks a Lead EC&I Engineer to join an exciting contract-based project. Their Project requires an experienced Lead Engineer to oversee various work packages, managing both stakeholder and sub-contract relationships. This vital role ensures efficient delivery and performance against expected costs and schedules within a highly regulated environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing estimates for all applicable stages of the process
  • Leading design delivery with internal teams and managing the same with respect to external contracts
  • Checking design drawings and documentation in accordance with the SL Checking and Approvals Process
  • Performing plant configuration walkdowns for accurate plant baseline recording to support onward design and assurance
  • Determining Engineering Requirements and underpinning Validation and Verification efforts
  • Representing the project team professionally within the supply chain, including attending acceptance tests as delegated
  • Engaging other disciplines and stakeholders at key lifecycle points while maintaining awareness of project management fundamentals
  • Presenting relevant deliverables confidently to stakeholders during Single and Multidiscipline design reviews


Job Requirements:

  • Significant experience in leading design delivery through various project stages
  • Understanding of the legislative and regulatory environment at Sellafield
  • Experience delivering CE&I design packages that meet user requirements and technical specifications
  • Demonstrable experience in highly-regulated industries
  • Qualification in a related engineering discipline (Electrical & Electronic / Controls & Instruments)


Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Programmable Electronic Systems, Machinery Safety, and Cybersecurity Risk Assessment
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and client IT systems (MS Office, Cimage, AVEVA)
  • Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
  • City and Guilds 2382 - Understanding the Requirements of Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018 (2022)
  • Professional registration with relevant institutes (IET, IoP, InstMC)
  • CyBOK foundations or recognised qualification in Industrial Cyber Security
