Civil, Structural & Architectural (CS&A) Engineer Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Civil and Structural Engineer to deliver high-quality engineering solutions across a range of industrial projects. You will be responsible for the design, assessment and inspection of civil and structural works, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, design standards, client requirements and company quality procedures. Experience - Minimum 8 10 years' experience in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
- Petrochemical/process industry experience
- Experience delivering industrial projects in sectors such as power generation, chemical, pharmaceutical, mining, and oil & gas is desirable.
Qualifications - BEng, MEng, BSc or MSc in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) with ICE or IStructE or actively working towards Chartered status.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Relevant site safety certifications (e.g. Safety Passport, watercourse working) are advantageous.
Key Responsibilities - Deliver civil and structural designs, calculations, drawings and technical reports for FEED, Detailed Design and construction projects.
- Undertake structural analysis and design using engineering software including STAAD.Pro, Tedds, AutoCAD, Navisworks and FEA packages.
- Produce and check engineering calculations, specifications, RAMS and construction documentation.
- Interpret site investigations, condition surveys and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections, responding to technical queries and reviewing reinforcement, fabrication drawings and lifting plans.
- Manage assigned work to agreed budgets, programmes and quality standards, identifying and reporting changes in project scope.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, company QA procedures and Health, Safety & Environmental requirements.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams and maintain effective communication with clients and contractors.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Support project planning, resource management, cost estimation and contractor bid evaluations where required.
Skills & Competencies - Strong technical knowledge of steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and foundation design.
- Sound engineering judgement with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of structural deterioration mechanisms and asset integrity.
- Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and undertake occasional international assignments.
